Service Description

Any phase of reproductive journey welcome. Baby in carrier is welcome! Come with a comfy outfit to move around. Yoga pants, T-shirt, and barefoot is great. The level of workout is to make your blood flow going, not to make you pant. We warm up/stretch, do some breathing, basic & juicy bellydance moves; and do a short choreography together. Throughout the class, there will be some labor/birth and parenting tips to take home with. No dance experience necessary because you are dancing for YOURSELF. — Why Dancing for Birthing? 💜Being upright during labor and birth can increase the available space within the birthing person’s pelvis by up to 30%. 💜Healthy pregnant persons are advised to get at least 2.5 hrs of aerobic exercise every week. 💜Being upright and mobile during birth results in: shorter labors by more than an hour; 20% fewer epidurals; 23 % fewer assisted deliveries; and 30% fewer cesareans. 💜Dance promotes the release of endorphins known to decrease stress and alleviate pains. 💜Dance reduces muscle tensions and promotes relaxation 💜 Maternal exercise throughout gestation improves fetal heart health. 💜At five years old, children whose mothers exercised during pregnancy scored much higher on tests of general intelligence and oral language skills.
